Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
The short version: this site collects your email address if you choose to give it, counts anonymous pageviews, and does nothing else with your data. There are no advertising trackers here and nothing is sold.
What is collected
Your email address, only if you submit it to subscribe. It is used to send you the newsletter and nothing else. Subscription uses double opt-in, meaning you must click a confirmation link before you receive anything.
Aggregate usage counts. Page views and interactions are counted in aggregate so we know which pieces are read. These counters record the page path and the event type. They do not record your IP address, and they do not build a profile of you.
A theme preference, stored in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers whether you chose light or dark. It never leaves your device.
What is not collected
No advertising cookies. No third-party ad networks. No cross-site tracking pixels. No fingerprinting. Your data is never sold, rented, or traded.
Where your email is kept
The mailing list runs on self-hosted software under our own control rather than a third-party marketing platform, with delivery through a transactional email provider. A private encrypted backup of subscriber addresses is retained so the list survives infrastructure failure.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server request logs on our behalf. Aggregate analytics are provided by Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites.
Your choices
Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it entirely, by writing to hello@thelongevitydesk.org. Deletion requests are honoured — there is no retention argument worth making over a newsletter list.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated date above will change and subscribers will be told by email rather than left to notice.
